Aircon NZ is now an authorised provider of services for the Build Back Smarter project.
Build Back Smarter is an advisory service being offered in the greater Christchurch area to help home owners and landlords improve the health and efficiency of their homes.
It is an initiative provided in partnership by the Christchurch City Council, the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority, the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority and the Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment. Funding provided by these organisations means that the assessment and plan is available free of charge to homeowners.
One of our assessors will visit you in your home and review a range of features such as your insulation, heating, glazing, window coverings, ventilation, shower domes, lighting/LED lighting and water heating and prepare a tailored plan showing the most beneficial things that you can do to improve the performance of your home. This will mean that your home can be warmer, drier, healthier and more energy efficient.
Some of the recommendations may be simple and low, or no, cost. Other recommendations such as upgrading heating or insulation will have a cost. Our staff will be able to advise on any grants that may be available to you or options to assist with financing for these recommendations.
Contact Air Con today to make an appointment for one of our assessors to come to your home to carry out an assessment and provide you with your free Healthy Home Improvement Plan.
The Auckland City Council offers assistance to support the purchase of insulation and clean heating products to its ratepayers via the Auckland Council Retrofit Your Home programme.
If your house was built before the year 2000, home owners can apply for up to $5,000 loan towards the cost of their insulation and clean heating products. This loan is then paid back through Auckland City Council rates over a nine year period at approx. 7% interest (please check as can change).
